Burns has been in the Saugus School
system as student, teacher, educator,
department head, director of curriculum,
etc., for more than seventy years. Still
active as curriculum director as he winds
down more than sixty-one years of
educating Saugus youth, Burns generates
the energy to direct the compiling A
Gathering of Memories. He graduated from
Saugus High in 1934, Boston College in
1938, with a Masters Degree in 1946,
after service as an officer in the U.S.
Navy in World War II. He is an avid
reader, book collector, and has been
hailed by hundreds and hundreds of former
Saugus students as the best teacher they
have ever had at any level. |
