April Amonte has lived
in seven countries and at or near some dozen military bases
with her parents, her father being a career Air Force officer.
While she was schooled in many of those countries, sometimes
base-connected, she quickly gained appreciation of the storyteller's
intuitive art that could control the passage of time and the
garnering of friendships. She found it was the best tool to
form new friendships more quickly. While she was jumped from
base to country to base it became a necessary part of her make-up.
The stories her paternal grandfather told her of his New England
roots held him fast in her memory. After her final education
was completed at a Boston-area college, she settled in a North
Shore community and has recently begun to put on paper the stories
that she and her grandfather created and acted out when they
came together.
